Paying glowing tributes to martyrs of Bijbahara All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said the blood of these martyrs will not be allowed to go waste & nation will never forget the sacrifices rendered by martyrs of these heart-wrenching massacres. As a nation, we are committed to fulfil their mission and while reiterating his demand, Geelani appealed human rights organizations including Amnesty International to utilize their offices in bringing to book these perpetrators involved in heinous crimes against humanity.
Pro-freedom leader said as long as Indian forces are there, such pain giving events will occur and it will further add to the never-ending situation of uncertainty.
Monday Geelani expressed and conveyed his deep feelings for bereaved families of martyrs of Bijbahara massacre and said that we have presented unparalleled sacrifices for a sacred cause and hundreds of graveyards stand testimony for this. Martyrs sacrificed their future for us and now we are duty bound to safeguard these sacrifices and pursue their mission
Geelani said that Indian forces perpetrated hundreds of such gruesome massacres in state, including Bijbahara, Gow Kadal, Sopor, Handwara, Bandipora, Kupwara, Zakura, Wadhama, Chati Singhpora and added that Indians during their freedom movement witnessed one massacre of Jallianwala Bagh, while as we have witnessed so many such incidents during last seven decades.
Referring to history, Geelani said that after the independence of India from British rule in 1947 more than five lakh innocent Muslims were brutally killed.
Syed Ali Geelani while referring to forces officers involved in these killings, said that those involved in these heinous crimes are roaming free and were never prosecuted for their crimes or brought to book, instead were honoured and elevated to higher status.
Geelani said it is because of this unaccountability that people are worst sufferers and are facing these heart-breaking events.
Forces feel free and can kill anybody without any fear of accountability, said Geelani and while ridiculing international community for their apathetic approach and indifference towards people of Jammu and Kashmir, said that they have turned their blind eye to all these gruesome happenings.
Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal to United Nations said, that unless the forces atrocities are checked and probe initiated against killers and perpetrators, human rights violations will go unchecked. He sought help and asked International community to come to the rescue and help to stop genocide and initiate action against preparators of these massacres likewise as was initiated against Serb militia in Bosnia Herzegovina.
