r. Sanjeev Kumar Koul S/o Sh. Ram Prashad Koul R/o Mohalla Khakhal Bhadarwah has been conferred with “Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award for Scientific Excellence- 2017” by Marina Labs, Research & Development, Chennai, India on 21th of October, 2017. Dr. Kumar was honoured with this award for his outstanding contribution and recognition in the field of Mushroom Science. Dr. Sanjeev is an alumnus of the Department of Botany, University of Jammu, Jammu who did his Doctorate under the supervision of Dr. Yash Pal Sharma (Prof. & Head) and is presently posted at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bhalra, Bhadarwah. He has worked extensively on the wild mushroom flora of Jammu and Kashmir and has presented his research across the country and abroad. Earlier, Dr. Kumar has received a number of prestigious national and international recognition including SBMLS Gold Medal Award in Applied Biotechnology (2015), Jammu and Kashmir Innovative Science Teacher Award (2013), Summer Research Fellowship (2011) by INSA (Indian National Academy of Science, New Delhi), Prof. M.J. Thirumalachar Memorial award (2007) from the Mycological Society of India and many best paper and poster presentation awards during scientific congregations. He has published 41 research papers in National and International Journals and attended 44 National and 10 International conferences.
