Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday termed the recent statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in which she stressed for preparing ground for the dialogue process as a major initiative that has the potential to restore peace in the state.the statement issued by party on Thursday maintained that the chief minister has been making earnest efforts since the inception of the government in the state for the restoration of peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. It added that the directions passed by the chief minister to forces would have a major impact on restoration of peace as it is one of the remarkable Confidence Building Measure taken by the government. The Chief Minister had given directions to the security forces in the state that safety of innocents must be ensured so that they are not inconvenienced. She had further stressed for the efforts to persuade the alienated youth treading the violent path to return to the mainstream society besides not harassing the families of the militants.
According to PDP’s Srinagar District President and member of Upper House, Mohammad Khurshid Alam the approach adopted by the chief minister towards ending violence and bloodshed in Valley has proved her ability of being a tolerant and just head of the place that has been craving for the earnest leadership since long. “She is following the footsteps of her father and PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayed who spent his entire life for the well being of the people of the state. Her consistent approach and pragmatist belief will for sure heal the wounds of the perturbed and shall go a long way in bringing the state back on track and put a lid over uncertainty and chaos,” Alam said while addressing the party workers here at the PDP headquarters.
The PDP leader further underscored the importance of involvement of all sections of society in making the dialogue process a success and result oriented. He stressed that the initiative of talks to end violence in Kashmir must be supported by one and all across the party lines and ideologies. “The PDP has been stating right from the day one that it is only dialogue that would yield the results as all issues are resolved via talks and never by violence,” said the PDP leader.
