Dy CM for undertaking cost-effective building techniques | KNO

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today called for effective use of cost-effective technology in constructions so that the cost escalations and other related things are checked and people provided with the viable alternatives as well to ensure putting in place speedy and economical infrastructure. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking while inspecting the Building centre at Bemina here today. Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Ms Asiea Naqash was also present The Deputy Chjief Minister said that adotipn of cost effective technology is a need which needs to be properly propagated so that people can make economical dwelling units and other constructions sothat the housing facilities become affordable to everybody. He said the technological interventions in undertaking constructions would also address different other issues like costing and other environmental and ecological factors. While directing the officers of the housing department to actively involve the building centres in construction and procurement of the materials, the Deputy Chief Minister said this would considerably cut down the costs of constructions in constructing Government infrastructure and other developmental works. He said it will ensure the self-sustainability of these centres besides actively involving them in various developmental activities. Dr. Singh also asked the Director of the Building Centres to undertake the training of the people associated with the construction in order to acquaint them with the latest interventions and technologies while carrying resulting in making the buildings cost-effective and also ensuring speedy construction. Minister of State Ms Asiea Naqash also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the need for introducing cost-effective building techniques in carrying out constructions.
