Reports said that youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones in Mir mohalla area to help the militants escape. Three youth were hit by pellets during the ensuing clashes. Two were treated at CHC Hajin while the third one hit by pellets in the eye was shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment. The forces had laid a cordon in the area in the area following inputs about the presence of militants. A police constable Zaheer Abbass was killed in the initial exchange of fire.
