Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of prominent businessman and social activist, Abdul Hamid Guru, who passed away yesterday after a brief illness.
In her condolence message, the Chief Minister described the deceased as a person with all humanitarian qualities who was also a leading light in the social circles of the Valley.
Mehbooba Mufti has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Abdul Hamid Guru. Describing the deceased as a noble, the Minister said that Abdul Hamid Guru was a gentle soul who always craved for peace and harmony in Kashmir.
Prominent workers of PDP Amirakadal Zone held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Bukhari at Shiekhbagh and later visited Rajbagh to express their solidarity with the braved family.
Recalling the magnanimity of the deceased, Bukhari termed late Abdul Hamid Guru as a great host who had a vast social base comprising of people from all walks of life and from different shades of opinion.
The Minister remarked that the deceased will be remembered as one of the most sought after personality who had witnessed important political and cultural developments in Kashmir, and his demise has created a void which is hard to fill.
Altaf Bukhari prayed for an eternal peace to the departed soul and endurance for the family and friends of the deceased to bear this irreparable loss.
