Director DHSK Dr. Saleem-Ur-Rehman launched daily-based DOTS Regimen (Medicine Dozes) at District Tuberculosis Centre, Srinagar where he had distributed daily-based free DOTS medicines to the newly detected TB patients. The function was organized by District TB Centre under the aegis of State TB Control Society and DHSK.
On the occasion, Director said that in India two deaths in every five minutes and 600 deaths per day happen due to the TB disease. “TB disease becomes a big threat in India as compared to AIDS. But in our valley cure rate from TB disease is 85% as compared to the rest of the country and DHSK is working very hard to improve this cure rate further,” he said.
The function was attended by Director STDC Dr. Shameem, Deputy Director (Headquarters) Dr. Dolma, Deputy Director (Schemes & Divisional Tuberculosis Officer), Dr. Showkat Ali Loloo, Assistant Director Dr. Mehmooda Kar, Epidemiologist Kashmir Dr. Rehana Kousar, Representatives from National Health Mission (NHM), Block & Zonal Medical Officers and other concerned officials of the DHSK.
