Electoral Roll Observer (ERO) Raj Kumar Bhagat, Commissioner /Secretary to Government Animal Husbandry Department today convened a meeting with District Election officer Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, Electoral Registration Officers 51- Kishtwar and 52-Inderwal, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Tehsildars) and the representatives of all the political parties and took feedback on the enrollment of new voters and the other mandatory Electoral roll related activities in the district.
Pertinent to mention here that the Election Commission of India has ordered the special summary revision of photo electoral roll from 3rd of October, 2017 as one month exercise, but the same has been now extended up to 30th of November, 2017 during which a Special drive has been launched by Commission from 15th to 30th of November, 2017 in which all the BLOs will visit house to house for enrolment of newly eligible electors, who are attaining the age of 18 yrs as on 1-1-2018 or those who are already 18 years and still not enrolled will get an opportunity to enroll themselves.
The Deputy District Election Officer Riaz Bhat apprised about the activities, programmes and awareness campaign held in the district to educate the voters. He informed that the election commission of India has started the online portals likewww.nvsp.in etc. and the merge of State electoral roll on Unified National Photo Electoral Roll, Electoral Roll for bringing more transparency in election process.
He informed that the application has been developed by Election Commission of India (ECI) to achieve the objectives of Unified National Photo Electoral Roll database and to ensure effective implementation of ECI mandate of “No Voter to be left behind”. With the ERONET, the voter, who registers online on National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) will be able to track the progress of his application and become aware of the final decision by using the portal.
In this system, the inclusion, modification, deletion or transposition in the electoral rolls is done by filing and submitting Electoral Roll forms. Forms can be submitted online through the National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP) portal is provided in the website of the Election Commission of Indiahttp://eci.nic.in.
District Election Officer Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana asked the representatives of all the political parties to appoint BLAs for the better communication and transparency in enrolling the young and eligible voters. He directed all the AEROs to sensitize the public in general by all means in order to achieve the cent percent enrolment besides to remove all the ambiguities and errors from the roll.
