Government Forces retreated from Sambora Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after locals hit to roads and pelted stones on them.
Eyewitnesses told news agency CNS that Government Forces comprising army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police tried to launch a Cordon and Search Operation in Sambora village; however, locals in large number hit to roads and pelted stones on them.
In order to disperse the protesters, Government Forces resorted to teargas shelling and aerial firing. The protesters persisted and continued to hurl rocks on the Forces personnel. Witnesses said they attacked Forces vehicles and shouted pro-freedom slogans.
According to witnesses, Government Forces retreated from the area without conducting any search operation.
Pertinently, two soldiers and a militant were killed in a gun fight in the same village on Tuesday evening. (CNS)
