KPs are global ambassadors of Kashmiri culture : Prof. Mattoo | KNO

Advisor to Chief Minister Prof Amitabh Mattoo today said that Kashmiri Pandit community has emerged as global ambassador of Kashmiri culture. “They have reckoned their talent in every field of human activity where ever they went and represented Kashmiri culture within the country and from Australia to America”, Mattoo said. He was addressing a huge audience of KP community members here at a talent hunt event organized by Athrot, a social organisation, here at Abhinav Theatre. Elaborating on the turn of events since eruption of militancy in Kashmir, he said migration of KPs during the turmoil was the major loss to the Kashmiri culture and heritage. However, he urged the community to continue to uphold the Kashmiri ethos and culture they way they have been doing till this time. He assured every support from government for the welfare and well being of community and enabling them to preserve their culture and traditions where ever they live. Meanwhile, the talent hunt event ‘Kashir Kalakaar-2’ witnessed scintillating performances by KP artists . The event featured singing, dancing, and dress competitions mostly depicting rich Kashmiri culture and tradition. As per the organizers, the initiative was taken to provide a platform to the children belonging to KP community and give them a kick-start to explore other possibilities to showcase their unique talent. Later the grand finale winners were presented awards by the chief Guest Prof Amitabh Mattoo. MLC G.L Raina, senior political leader Moti Lal Keemu, renowned film maker Ashok Pandit besides a number of prominent citizens, representatives of Athrot were present on the occasion.
