Welcoming the statement by Pakistan Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, regarding the Kashmir issue, Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Monday said that the views expressed by the Pak premier are based on reality and represent the aspirations and views of Kashmiris in true sense. Reaffirming its support for self-determination of Kashmiris, Abbasi has said that the idea of an independent Kashmir was not based on reality. In a statement, DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said that the statement forms the historical base for the Kashmir issue. “ We welcome this statement by the Pakistan Prime Minister and also urge him to intensify the efforts at diplomatic level and through other channels help in reaching the final resolution of Kashmir issue i.e. to become the part of Pakistan which will happen when people here are given their right to self-determine their future,” she added. “Pakistan support and its role is imperative for the resolution of Kashmir issue. We need it all the time,” she added Nasreen said that the government of Pakistan should also impress upon the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to intensify its efforts in seeking the resolution of Kashmir issue. “ The efforts by the government in Azad Kashmir will be more meaningful as they are the part of this Indian Occupied JK. Our vioces have been suppressed by the oppressor, so the government of Azad JK should do more so that our voices reach more and more people and platforms,” she added. So that Both Azad Kashmiris and the government of Pakistan can collectively and effectively take voices from Kashmir to international forums and can forcefully pursue the case that Kashmiris should be given their right to self-determination,” she added. Nasreen further appealed people of Kashmir to not to pay heed or get distracted by the so-called Indian processes taken to “resolve” Kashmir issue. “ People must reject these so-called Indian initiatives, these are the gimmicks meant to keep the people of Kashmir busy in trivial issues and practices.” “The genuine process, which is based on the historical realities, is that the only solution which is acceptable to the people of Kashmir is that we should be given our right to self-determination based on the two-nation theory. No other solution will be acceptable to us,” she added.
