The Meteorological Department has predicted dry spell during the next one week which could result in further drop in the night temperature though the sun will continue to appear with less heat due to chilly winds. However, the dry weather has resulted in considerable drop in the water level in river Jehlum and its tributaries and other water bodies, including one of the largest fresh water lake in Asia “Wullar”. Leh in Ladakh region was coldest as the minimum temperature settled at minus 5. 7 degrees Celsius though the day was relatively sunny.
