National Conference on Wednesday expressed dismay and anguish over the brazen nepotism being promoted by the PDP BJP government Stating that the present regime is throwing all rules and regulations to winds NC provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said, “How come posts of director, a commissioner and other high profile appointments are being made without following the set protocol? The government is making it clear that merit has no value in the present regime.” Citing the recent example where the government appointed unqualified and undeserving candidates to the plum posts the spokesperson said, “Such appointments have no precedence. Clearly these people were blue eyed persons close to corridors of power.” He further said that the agenda behind bringing in such people is to pave way for adjusting more undeserving people in these so called missions and programmes. “Media reports are full of documentary evidence exposing the rot within the administration. No sooner after one of the directors own appointment, he conducted bogus interviews to adjust more blue eyed people in the said mission,” the spokesperson said. Hitting out at the series of arbitrary appointments without necessary approval, Imran said, “The only thing visible in this government is nepotism and blatant corruption which in itself has become one of the main reasons for the growth of anger and alienation among the youth of Kashmir. What justice can one expect from Mehbooba Mufti when it’s her government which is making a cruel joke out of programmes and missions of poverty alleviation and development?” NC demanded that the government comes out with an explanation as to how and why such appointments were made. “People have a right to know why this government is hell-bent on corroding the laid down rules of appointments. What was the claim of the recently elevated candidates to such posts.” NC alleged that the recent appointments have bred anger and frustration in the KAS officers who have given their sweat and blood of years in a bid to qualify for higher posts but are being systematically sidelined. “Secretariat has become a breeding ground of corrutipon and nepotism and it’s the CM and her coterie that is behind the mess,” the spokesperson said.
