Crediting security forces, including the Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police for tremendous success in carrying out the “operation all-out”, Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Dr SP Vaid on Thursday said the security forces have fiercely intensified operations to hunt top militants in Kashmir. This is a record going by the last ten years. Except 4 to 5 commanders, other top militants have been eliminated “There is a tremendous success as far as ‘operation allout’ is concerned. The credit goes to the officers and jawans who work in the field,” Dr Vaid told a news gathering agency in an interview. Vaid said that 170 militants have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir this year including top commanders. These commanders include Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Moulana Masood Azhar’s nephew Talha Radhid, Jaish-e-Mohammad’s Mehmood Bhai, Lashkar-e- Toiba’s Abu Dujana and Waseem Shah as well as Burhan Wani’s successor Sabzar Ahmad Bhat of the Hizbul Mujahideen. “This is a record going by the last ten years. Except 4 to 5 commanders, other top militants have been eliminated,” he said. Lauding the Army for controlling and checking the infiltration, Vaid said: “We had a lot of success on the borders. But since it is a difficult border, some people are managing to enter. But in the hinterland, they are getting neutralised.” Dr Vaid said that the operations against the militants will continue and hoped that peace will return to Kashmir. “I am hopeful that things will improve,” he concluded.
