JAMMU & KASHMIR Even after a year Tariq Pandit is still an under trial | KNO REPRESENTATION PHOTO Published 335 weeks ago on November 10, 2017 By KashmirNewsObserver The family members of former Hizbul Mujhadeen militant Tariq Pandit Friday alleged that even after the expiry of more than a year, police have not produced challan before the court of law. The family said that Tariq has been languishing in Kotbhalwal Jail Jammu from past one year and still he is under trial while police is not interested in presenting his case before the court of law. Tariq Ahmed Pandit was a close associate of slain Hizb commander Burhan Wani who was allegedly surrendered in Newa Pulwama on May 29 last year, a report vehemently refuted by security agencies who claimed that Pandit was arrested during a raid. Bashir Ahmed, the father of Tariq said that he doesn’t know whether he surrendered or was arrested. “He is my lone son and I have only one daughter. My only concern is that authorities should shift to Srinagar central jail and his case should be produced before the court of law,” he said.
