The J&K Muslim League (ML)on Saturday said that its “dedicated” chairman, Masarat Aalam Bhat, was rearrested by police after being released from Kotbalwal jail and was shifted to an unknown place. The ML spokesperson strongly condemned the act and termed it as a “deep conspiracy” and a part of PDP, BJP agenda of Alliance. ML is a constituent of Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat Conference and Alam is its Secretary General (III). “The court has already quashed the 35 PSAs against Masrat Aalam and had issued the release order in his favour. But still in well planed games, the government sits on the new policies and methods for his continuous detention under the frivolous and baseless cases,” the ML spokesperson said. “To rearrest him after court orders is not only contempt of court but also a heinous example of human rights violation which also shows the illegal utilization of their powers by the JK police which is unacceptable,” the ML said. Appealing the Red cross, human Rights watch and other human rights organizations to the notice of “worst political revenge” against Masarat Aalam by the government, the ML asked them to play their role in removing all the hurdles in his release.
