SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 13 (KNO) : Taking a strict note of the non-availability of dedicated exam centres in Kashmir Valley, Coordinator Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, Tassaduq Mufti has written to the Union Government emphasizing the need of having dedicated exam centres for various national level entrance exams and posts in the Valley. The Coordinator said that a large number of students and job aspirants had complained that most of the times their examination centres were being kept outside the State or outside the valley, which puts them at a disadvantage. “Aspirants especially females and economically weaker classes find it difficult to take up the examination outside the State. Most of the time, the students miss the chance for participating in several examinations due to factors like disruption of road and air connectivity because of harsh winter, economic and social factors,” he added. The recently declared notifications of NEET, GATE and NIC recruitment exams were such examples, he said. Tassaduq Mufti expressed hope that the Central Government will direct all the stakeholders including National Board of Examination (NBE), Universities/ Central Departments / Public Sector Undertakings to keep their examination centres in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir so that grievances of the aspirants get resolved (KNO)
