Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had to face the angry crowd at Khanka-e-Maula shrine today, sources said. Witnesses told The Kashmir Vision that CM Mufti visited the Kahnka-e-Maula, the shrine of revered Sufi Hazrat Mir Syed Lai Hamadani to take stock of the situation after the shrine was damaged in post midnight fire. She was accompanied by MLA Amirakadal and Minister of Education Altaf Bukhari and MLA Hazratbal Asiea Naqash. After interacting with the caretakers of the shrine and the officials, when she was about to leave, some people raised pro-freedom slogans that caused the commotion in the area. A mysterious fire broke out in the shrine building last night. According to the reports, an electric short circuit caused the fire that left the 14th-century shrine damaged.
