DAK president organise free Medical Health camp at Rampor and Rajpor | KNO

Srinagar 16 Nov (KNO) : Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) organized a mega health camp for the children of Rampor and Rajpor village of sopore north kashmir Baramulla district on Thursday .The doctors, SDH Sopore staff members and paramedical team was led by it’s president Dr Suhail Naik. Rampor Rajpor is so far flung area in the hamlets of sopore town . Locals appreciated the DAK president Suhail Naik for this great step. Health check up of around 400 infants and children were conducted in the said medical camp which included a preliminary health check for height and weight, and whole system examination. The main focus of camp was to screen children for silent congenital heart diseases, said Dr Naik. “The children who were suffering from infections or infestations were provided with free medicines and counselling. DAK will award “appreciation certificate” to all those pharmaceutical companies who are actively participating in these medical camps and are providing free logistics to the patients, president DAK Dr Suhail Naik announced. “It is estimated that arround 0.7℅ children are suffering from by birth silent heart diseases and less than 5% of them receive the care that they need”, Dr Naik added .He further added that “most of these children, succumb to these silent heart disease, if not diagnosed at proper time. In fact, the nightingale actress of bolly wood, Madhu Balla also succumbed to silent heart disease at the age of 35 years”. The social outreach programme of DAK is dedicated to raising awareness about disease and providing early treatment, equipment and financial support to patients with socio-economic distressful situation. Health education and building awareness is the key to educating society to fight against water and air born infections. DAK is organizing these Health Camps through it’s “social outreach wing” and will be continuing these type of programmes in the future also (KNO)
