Seminar on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) related cases held at DPO Anantnag | KNO

Srinagar, November 16 (KNO) : In order to educate, interact and discuss about investigation of important and serious cases pertaining to Acts like ULA (P) and NDPS, a series of seminars have been planned by District Police Anantnag. Seminar on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) related cases was held at Conference Hall of DPO Anantnag. All gazzetted and Prosecuting officers of South Kashmir Police Range participated in the seminar. Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan welcomed the participants and guests. Speaking on the occasion SSP Anantnag reiterated that investigation of cases is prime duty of Police and only quality investigation can stand scrutiny of court and these types of seminars will iron out discrepancy and will educate Investigators in understanding of such cases. Superintendent of Police Headquarters Anantnag Shri Tahir Ashraf briefed about the practical aspects of the investigation, matters related to search, seizures and bail. He is further emphasized on the provisos and their interpretation by the IOs in the investigation and the problem faced during investigation. Shri Peer Afaq CPO, graced the occasion and highlighted certain aspects regarding lacuna in the investigations and precautions to be taken by police while presenting the charge sheets before the court. The purpose of the seminar was to build confidence among the young officers to take on the serious investigation cases in an effective and transparent manner (KNO)
