Kishtwar Police rescued stranded Passengers at Sinthan Top | KNO

KISHTWAR,NOV 17 : In the event of sudden snow fall at Sinthan Top Pass in Kishtwar here today five passengers got stranded on the pass along with 02 trucks and 01 Junga vehicle. Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary on receiving the information of the stranded passengers immediately constituted a police team of Police Station Chatroo headed by Inspector Mohd Bashir, SHO Police Station Chatroo. The police team swung into the action and reached the spot on Sinthan Pass by travelling on foot for many kilometres, where the passengers were stranded. The police team rescued the stranded passengers and managed to facilitate them reach their home safely. The passengers rescued include Sajad Hussain S/o Zaffar Ahmad R/o Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain S/o Ghulam Hussain R/o Sarthal, both truck drivers, one Mohd Bashir of Kishtwar, an NHPC junga driver, Nisar Ahmad S/o Noor Hussain R/o Trigam Kishtwar and Hassan Ahmad S/o Not known R/o Damar Chatroo. The details of stranded vehicles are Truck No. JK14A 8614, Truck JK02X 189 and a Junga of NHPC without number.After rescuing the passengers and securing their vehicle to the safer locations, police party got another information of two persons stranded on the other side of Sinthan Pass in the jurdiscation of District Anantnag. The Police party on the instructions of SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary mobilized the local army also and immediately reached the spot on the other side of Sinthan Pass towards district Anantnag and rescued those passengers also. Their details of them are Sakeeb Ahmad S/o Javid Ahmad R/o Mughalmaidan, Maqsood S/o Noor Ahmad R/o Mughalmaidan. They were stranded in their Mahindra vehicle loaded with gas cylinders for Marwah. SSP Kishtwar has requested the general public to intimate him immediately if any passenger/person is stranded anywhere in the district or in the neighbouring districts bordering snowing areas of Kishtwar on following numbers(KNO)
