Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNO) : Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi has said that various facilities in the university hostels would be augmented very soon.
Addressing hostel boarders at the annual day celebrations of M.A.K and Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) boys hostels this week, Prof Andrabi said that hostels are a very important part of student life and all issues raised by the boarders vis-à-vis facilities and infrastructure would be addressed on priority.
He said that hostel life provides a unique opportunity to students to interact with each other beyond classrooms and vibrancy in hostels is therefore imperative. He also directed officials to ensure that there is no compromise on the quality of services being provided in the hostels and that all necessary arrangements vis-à-vis heating and electricity are in place in view of the impending winter.
On the occasion, scores of hostel boarders interacted with the Vice-Chancellor and put forth their suggestions on how to make the hostels more vibrant.
Registrar Prof Khursheed A Butt, Provost Prof GN Khaki, Chief Proctor Dr Naseer Iqbal, wardens Dr Mohammad Mehraj, Dr Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, Dr Javaid-ul-Aziz, Dr Shazia Manzoor and Dr Farzana were present on the occasion.
