Geelani Termed PSA On Masrat Aalam As 'State Terrorism' | KNO

Srinagar, November17 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani today termed as “state terrorism” the slapping of 36th Public Safety Act (PSA) on Muslim League chairman and assistant general secretary of amalgam Masarat Aalam Bhat, saying “It is highly condemnable.” Referring to “prolonged and unlawful detention” of Masarat Aalam Bhat, Geelani, in a statement today, said, “Aalam is languishing in jail since long, however, it is quite disheartening that he is being subjected to vengeance by state authorities.” Blaming Indian authorities for unabated human rightist’s violation in state and reiterating his pledge to carry the mission for right to self-determination to its logical end, Geelani said that Indian authorities are relying on their seven lakh armed forces personnel., bias judiciary and partial media. Referring to “prolonged and unlawful detention and framing fake charges against Shabir Ahmed Shah, by enforcement directorate and extending judicial remand till December 15th by NIA against Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Meraj u Din Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam and Nayem Ahmed Khan, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his dismay and added that Indian judiciary is not doing fair trial and rather following its bias approach to satisfy so-called “collective conscience of their nation.

Terming it sheer vengeance and bias attitude, Geelani said NIA failed to prove any substantial proof or evidences against the Hurriyat leaders, hence there is no moral or legal justification to detain them, said Geelani. Referring to the illegal detention of Salah u Din’s son, Shahid Yousuf, Photo journalist Kamran Yousuf and Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Geelani added that were also indicted falsely and detained and lodged in Tihar Jail. It is extreme unfortunate that on the directions of a callous police officer deputed in district Baramulla ,80-year-old Tehreek-e-Huriyat leader, Shah wali Mohammad has been detained in police station Sopor, said Geelani. He said that his wife is suffering from cancer and her daughter is handicapped and there is no male member to look after their family. Syed Ali Geelani while paying tributes to Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Yousuf Mir, Asiya Andrabi, , Fehmeda Sufi, Dr. Mohammad Shafi Shariati, Dr. Muhammad Qassim Faktoo , Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Abdul Ahad Parey, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Abdul Gani Bhat, Amir Hamza Shah, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Mir Hafeez ullah, Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Raies Ahmad Mir, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Mohammad Rustam Bhat, Mohammad Ramzan Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Ramzan Khan, Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam , Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, Sajjad Ahmed Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai, Salman Yousuf, Manzoor Ahmed Kaloo, Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Khaleq Regu, Ghulam Mohammad Tantrey, Molana Sarjan Barkati and Naseer Ahmad Ganai and hundreds others and said that people and particularly youth will brave all tyranny and highhandedness of Indian authorities till the mission of freedom is accomplished (KNO)
