Normal life was on Tuesday crippled in some areas in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where a local militant was killed in an encounter with security forces on Monday.
Even though there was no strike call given by any organisation, shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Tral and adjoining areas in Pulwama against the killing of the militant.
However, the situation was normal in other parts of the Pulwama, where shops were open and traffic was plying normally.
Reports of normalcy were coming from other parts of south Kashmir.
On Monday, Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant Adil Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Lurao in Tral, was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest area at Tral.
