Special Summary Revision : DEO reviews progress in Srinagar | KNO

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 22 (KNO) : District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, today convened a meeting with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of the district to review the progress of ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in the district. The meeting was informed that the Department has received 4811 Form 6 (inclusions), 2295 Form 7 (deletions), 1372 Form 8 (corrections) and 155 Form 8A (transpositions) up to November 20, 2017. The DEO called for increased efforts to improve the achievements made so far, instructing the constituencies going slow to show improved results. It was also given out during the meeting that the current EPIC ratio in the district stands at 90.17%. The DEO impressed upon the EROs to personally monitor the progress of enrollments in order that all eligible electors are registered in the Electoral Rolls. He also instructed for submitting periodical authentications by EROs of door-to-door survey of electoral registration by BLOs. The meeting also discussed the status of ERO-net cover in the district. The DEO called for enhanced efforts for improving the cover at the earliest. The DEO also stressed on ensuring proper methodologies are employed to prevent inaccuracies in the collection of data (KNO)
