Shaheed-e-Millat T20 Cricket Tournament: Two matches played on Wednesday | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 22 (KNO) : Two league matches of the ongoing Shaheed-e-Millat T20 Cricket Tournament were played on Wednesday between Baghat Gymkhana v/s Iqbal Cricket Club in morning and MR Cricket Club v/s Spartan Blues in afternoon. In morning’s thrilling match Ajaz Ahmad’s 53 runs in 39 balls and 2 wickets eased Baghat Gymkhana to a 51-run victory over Iqbal Cricket Club. Batting first after winning the toss, Baghat Gymkhana scored 171 Runs for 6 wickets, to which Iqbal Cricket Club’s innings never gathered momentum and a regular loss of wickets inevitably led to its defeat as they collapsed for just 120 runs. Asif scored 56 runs in 41 balls while as Ajaz Ahmad’s precious 53 runs in 39 balls and 2 wickets helped him in adjudging Man of the Match for his all-round performance. The Man of the Match was presented by S.Manzoor, while as senior organizing committee members of Shaheed-e-Millat T20 cricket tournament Sahil Ahmad War and Tanveer Sidiq were also present at the award ceremony. In second league match played on Wednesday Spartan Blues won the toss and choose to bat first against the MR Cricket Club bowling attack. The Spartan Blues set a target of 152 runs with help of Aamir Ahmad’s knock of 48 in just 17 balls. Chasing the target, MR Cricket Club lost only two wickets to register their win over Spartan Blues. The middle order batsman Ajaz Ahmad made unbeaten 80 runs in just 49 balls. He was declared Man of the Match. The chief guests in award ceremony were Tahir Qazi and Fayaz Ahmad Dar. On Thursday first match will be played between Jaima Hurricanes v/s Team Hooked at 9.30am, the other match of the day will be played between RCC Chattabal v/s Parimpora Eleven at 1.30pm (KNO)
