The members of Shia sect of the Muslims lodged a complaint against Rohit Sardana for posting derogatory statements against Bibi Fatima, the favourite daughter of Prophet Mohammed (saw) on Sunday at Dabeerpura police station. Based on the complaint, a case was booked against the famous TV presenter under section 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of IPC. Inspector of Dabeerpura Police, Mr. D. Venkana Naik said, “Mr Sardana had tweeted on Sunday, comparing the gods and deities to film titles with provocative words”. Sardana who left Zee News and joined Aaj Tak recently has posted a tweet about the much debated Malayalam movie “S Durga” which was originally named “Sexy Durga”, in which he compared Bibi Aisha, Bibi Fatima and Mary (Mother of Jesus) to film titles with provocative words. Muslims highly respect all three ladies although the complaint made against Sardana held him responsible only for insulting Bibi Fatima.
