Asiea Naqash for creating friendly environment for specially-abled | KNO

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 27 (KNO) : Minister of State for H&UD, Health and Medical Education and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash on Tuesday said that government is committed to make an inclusive environment for differently able people so that they can work normally in the society and live a dignified life with respect and honour. The Minister said this while speaking in a day long programme at Abhinav Theatre Jammu organized to celebrate passing of disability bill 2016 by Government of India. The function was organized by Management team of Kalpana Kala Kendra Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Institute of General Education and Rehabilitation (JIGAR). The Institute is working for the Children with disabilities under aegis of Humanity Welfare organization who is also working for disabled and community children. Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that government is committed to bring the bill in J&K and to give full support to the differently able persons. She said that SC/ST Corporation is working for the welfare of differently able persons and government is ready to provide loan facilities to the differently able persons so that they can work and open their own venture as per their requirement so that they can earn their livelihood. The function was attended Member Parliament, Nazir Laway, MLC, Vikram Randhawa, Vice Chairman SC/ST Corporation Balbir Rattan, Commissioner disability, Iqbal Lone, Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation(Migrant) M.L. Raina, MLC, Ajay Bharti, besides a number of people with several disabilities, eminent citizens, representatives from the various NGOs, students from various schools and volunteers who participated and performed various cultural programmes on the occasion. On the occasion the Minister gave away the letter of appreciation to the differently-abled persons who are doing some extra ordinary work for the community.
