Hundreds of protesters started raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans soon after the culmination of congregational prayers who were chased away by forces. However the protesters re-assembled and pelted stones on the men in uniform who fired tear smoke shells to disperse them. The clashes later spread to Lal Chowk, Rishi Bazar and Janglat Mandi areas, local sources told Kashmir Reader.
