The locals here in Haijin town of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district Thursday observed a complete shutdown against alleged army excesses. All the shops and business establishments remained shut while transport also remained off the roads. Pertinently, Army soldiers from 13 Rashtriya Rifles went on a rampage in the town after a stone-pelting incident. They according to locals vandalized residential houses and shops and set dozens of stacks of dried grass on fire. The videos and photographs about army excesses are viral and widely shared on social media networking sites. Five persons including a local with bullet injuries were wounded in army action during clashes.
