National Lok Adalat held at District Court Complex Jammu, 5406 cases decided | KNO

JAMMU DECEMBER 09 (KNO: On the direction of Chairman National Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of Patron-in-Chief Chief Justice, Bader Durrez Ahmed and Executive Chairman State Legal Services Authority Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, a National Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex, Janipur Jammu under the Chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Vinod Chatterji Koul. A total number of eleven benches were constituted at District Court Complex, Jammu. The first bench was presided over by V.C. Koul, Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Jammu and assisted by Mohan Singh Parihar, 1st additional District & Sessions Judge Jammu. The second Bench was presided over by Additional District Jugde (Bank cases) Bala Jyoti and assisted by Surinder Singh City Judge Jammu. The third Bench was headed by Sonia Gupta, Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu and assisted by Swati Gupta, Sub – Registrar Jammu. The fourth Bench was headed by Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Additional District Judge, MACT Jammu and assisted by Sumit Bhat (Retainer Lawyer) DLSA Jammu. The fifth Bench was headed by Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Additional District Judge, District Consumer Protection Forum Jammu and assisted by Anita Tickoo, (Retainer Lawyer) DLSA Jammu. The sixth bench was headed by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, and assisted by Zeeshan Ahmad choudhary (Retainer Lawyer) TLSC Jammu. The seventh Bench was headed by Kusum Lata Pandita (Sub-Judge) Jammu and assisted by Arti Mohan (I/c Excise Magistrate,) Jammu. The eighth Bench was headed by Sudhir Khajuria, Special Electricity Mobile Magistrate, Jammu and assisted by Manjeet Rai, Special Mobile Magistrate P&T Jammu. The ninth Bench was headed of Som Lal, Sub Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate (13th Finance Commission) Jammu and assisted by Ms. Arti Devi, Munsiff Jammu. The tenth Bench was headed by Yahya Firdous Ahangar, Special Railway Magistrate, Jammu, assisted by Amit Sharma, Special Mobile Magistrate Traffic, Jammu and Slahuddin Ahmad, Additional Mobile Magistrate, Traffic Jammu. The eleventh Bench was headed by Manoj Parihar, Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu, assisted by ADC Jammu and Shashi Chander (Retainer Lawyer) DLSA Jammu. Cases of Civil nature, Criminal Compoundable , Petty Offences, Bank Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Consumer Cases, Matrimonial Cases, Cases under 138 NIA, Revenue, Electricity, Water, Passenger Tax and Railway Cases were taken up and settled in the Lok Adalat. A total number of 5,562 cases were taken up, out of which 5,406 cases have been decided. A total of Rs. 15,22,79,416/- was settled in the Lok Adalat. Lok Adalat Benches were also constituted at Tehsil Headquarters at Akhnoor Bishnah, and R.S. Pura which were presided over by respective Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committees.(KNO)
