IGP Jammu discusses R-Day celebration arrangements | KNO

JAMMU, DECEMBER 11 (KNO) : Inspector General of Police Jammu S. D. Singh today convened a high level meeting to discuss the arrangements for ensuing Republic Day celebration 2018. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jammu Rehana Batul, DIG Jammu Rafiq-ul-Hassan, SSP Security Ashok Sharma, SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta, ADC Jammu Arun Manhas, Joint Director YSS Jammu Madan Lal, Joint Director Information Jammu Manisha Sarin, Additional Secretary JKAACL Dr. Arvinder Singh, RTO Jammu Deep Raj, besides other senior officers from Army, Indian Air Force, Police, Security, BSF, CRPF, PHE, R&B, I&C, Health, School Education, Sports Council, Floriculture, Fire and Emergency Services, State Motor Garages, SRTC, Forest and other departments. During the meet it was informed that the main function would be held at Maulana Azad Stadium where the National flag hoisting ceremony would be held. Threadbare discussion was held on vital issues including composition of parade, display of tableaus, cultural items, face lifting of MA Stadium, illumination of government buildings, Rehearsal, Transport arrangements, seating arrangements, printing and issuance of invitation cards, drinking water, lighting arrangements at all sides of stadium, medical arrangements, availability of ambulances and others. IGP Jammu stressed upon all departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day. While reviewing security and traffic arrangements, IGP Jammu directed the Police and Traffic departments to make adequate security and traffic arrangements so that general public reaches to the venue hassle free. Youth Services and Sports Department was asked to furnish list of participating contingents including school children and number of buses needed for their transportation. S. D. Singh exhorted upon the officers to gear up for the National festival and put in their best efforts to make the event a grand success.(KNO)
