Shopian December 12 (KNO) : Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today conducted an extensive tour of different areas of the district to inspect snow clearance operations and stock position of essential commodities. During the visit, the DC was informed that all main roads in the district have been cleared off snow, while as snow clearance in upper reaches which experienced heavy snowfall is in progress. Regarding stock and supply position, he was informed that sufficient stock of rice, sugar, atta, k.oil & LPG is available at godowns of FCI & FCS&CA. The DC directed the concerned to ensure all essential services and commodities to the people, so that they do not face any difficulty in view of harsh weather conditions. Officers of district administration, Engineers and other concerned accompanied the DC during the visit. DDC issued directions to executive engineer PDD to take utmost care in providing Power supply as per schedule and the same should be restored at the earliest in case of disruption during inclement weather.
During the tour of Shopian Town DDC interacted with members of market committee and listened to grievances of shopkeepers and assured them of appropriate redressal on top priority(KNO)
