Bar Association Baramulla and trade bodies on Tuesday boycotted a meet with the government of India’s special representative for a dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma, who began his visit to north Kashmir yesterday.
While talking to Greater Kashmir, president Bar association Baramulla Adul Salam said that they have decided to boycott the meet as “it will not bear any fruit.”
"We don't want to be part of such an exercise which will fetch no result. It is just a futile exercise," he said.
On Monday, Sharma arrived in Kupwara at a time when two civilians have been killed allegedly in firing by forces in the district.
Sharma, who arrived in the Valley for the third time on Monday after his appointment as an interlocutor, met people from different walks of life including politicians, ‘conflict victims’, civil society members, students, traders and others.
