Police solves Hit and Run case in Kangan | KNO

Srinagar, December 27 (KNO) : A pedestrian namely Abdur Rashid Wani son of Sanaullah Wani resident of Mammer Kangan aged about 55 years was hit by an unknown vehicle heading towards Kangan. Taking advantage of darkness the driver managed to flee from the spot along with the vehicle. The injured person was shifted to Trauma Hospital Kangan from where he was referred to SKIMS Soura. In this regard, case FIR No 113/2017 under sections 279, 337 RPC was registered in Police Station Kangan and a manhunt was launched to nab the culprit. After strenuous efforts put in by Police Station Kangan, the vehicle (Alto bearing registration No UP16F 5199) was tracked and the driver Farooq Ahmad Ahangar son of Mushtaq Ahmad Ahangar resident of Surfraw was arrested within 24 hours of the incident. Police has again urged general public to observe traffic rules and refrain from over-speeding and rash driving.(KNO)
