Sources said that soon after forces cordoned off the area, youth took to streets and started pelting stones on them who retaliated with tear gas shelling triggering clashes in the area. Earlier 44 RR, 14th Bn CRPF and SOG Shopian cordoned off the area after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. Search operation along with clashes were going on when last reports came in.
