DC Srinagar reviews Republic Day arrangements | KNO

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 28 (KNO) : Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Republic Day celebrations – 2018 in the district. The meeting was informed that the main function of Republic Day would be held in Amar Singh College Srinagar grounds because of the ongoing renovation works at Bakshi Stadium The meeting held detailed discussions on arrangements including security in and outside the new venue, transport, power supply, medicare facilities, seating arrangements, march-past, band contingents, public address system, fire fighting measures and sanitation. In view of the new venue of the function, the DC stressed on making earliest possible spot visits by all concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements for the function. He also emphasised close coordination among the concerned departments for smooth conduct of the celebrations. ADC Srinagar, SE R&B, SE PDD, senior officials from Police, CRPF, BSF, SSP Traffic City, Director Floriculture, Joint Director Education, Joint Director FPF Kashmir, Deputy General Manager SRTC, Deputy Director Hospitality & Protocol, officials from Mechanical Division, SMC, PHE, Doordarshan, Radio, Tourism, Cultural Academy, and other concerned attended the meeting.(KNO)
