DGP addresses police personnel at DPL Srinagar | KNO

Kashmir police has done impressive investigations in terrorism and law & order during 2017; Will strive for more welfare measures: Dr Vaid

Srinagar, December 30 (KNO) : Kashmir Police has done appreciable investigation in the cases related to terrorism, law & order in the past one year which has helped in bringing perpetrators of the crime to justice. This was stated by Director General of Police J&K Dr S.P. Vaid while addressing police personnel at a Darbar held in DPL Srinagar. Darbar was attended by ADGP Shri Munir Ahmed Khan, DIG South Kashmir, DIG North Kashmir, all SSsP of the districts of South Kashmir Range, three districts of Central Range and SSsP of different wings. In his address, the DGP said that he was proud of the achievements of the J&K police personnel whose efforts have brought laurels. The work and the dedication of our police has been recognized by the citizens of the country and by the top functionaries of the Govt at the highest level. The DGP while highlighting the welfare measures taken by the PHQ with the help of the State Govt said that some proposals with the regard to rank promotions and health are under the consideration of the Govt. He further added that he and his team will continue to strive for more welfare measures in the coming year. He said that the Central Govt has agreed in principle to provide funds for the construction of 3000 quarters at Srinagar and 2000 quarters at Jammu for the safe housing of police personnel. For their work 93 officers and Jawans were decorated with ranks and conversion orders of 146 SPOs as constables were distributed on this occasion. Earlier, DIG Central Kashmir Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat and DIG South Kashmir Shri S.P. Pani briefed the DGP regarding the achievements of their respective ranges in year 2017.((KNO)
