Year 2017 : Most Horrible As Civilian Killings Touched Its Highest Level : Hurriyat (G) | KNO

Srinagar, December 31 (KNO) : Blaming coalition regime for ghastly situations in state, Huriyat conference said that there was no let-up in killing, human rights violations, harassing civilians and leadership, restrictions on political activities and movement and barring people from religious obligations. Referring to year 2017 ,Hurriyat in its report said that it marked most horrible as civilian killings touched its highest level ,saying that atrocities perpetrated by occupied forces and agencies, range from killings innocents , torture, sexual abuse , caging resistance leadership on fake charges ,indiscriminate use of lethal weapons and to political repression and suppression of freedom of speech. Denouncing state authorities for their callous and heartless approach, Huriyat said they have waged war on civilians and while turning state into hell, surpassed all records of their predecessors. Blaming PDP for altering the Muslim majority status of state, Huriyat in its report blamed that coalition partners are all set to tinker and tamper with demographic status and article 35 A and accused of providing jobs and issuing state subject status to outside state citizens. Commenting over the regulation and introduction of GST, Hurriyat said that it was aimed at to subvert and halt the economic development in state. Huriyat Conference while lashing state authorities for their autocratic and egoistic behaviour, said that since last eight years, Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house arrest and the situation remained unchanged as he was not allowed to offer religious obligation in year 2017, saying resistance leaders were not allowed to carry their political activities. Political leaders and activists were subjected to vengeance and NIA was put into service to harass and to arrest larders including Shabir Ahmad Shah , Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah, Meraj u Din Kalwal, Shahid ul Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar , Nayeem Ahmad Khan ,Zahoor Watali ,Javed Ahmad ,Kamran Yousuf ,Mohd Aslam Wani ,Shahid Yusuf on fake and fabricated charges ,while as JK Bar Association president ,Miya Ab Qayoom, Dr Nayeem Geelani, Dr Naseem Geelani ,Huriyat leader Noor Mohd Kalwal and Aala Fazili were summoned by the agency. The report said that in 2017 more than two hundred brave hearts achieved martyrdom during gunfight ,75 civilians brutally killed by forces ,seven thousand injured and 450 resistance leaders and youth arrested, and added that Masarat Allam Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Amir Hamza Shah, Mir Hafeez ullah, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Abdul Ghani Bhat, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Raies Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Yusuf Mir, Abdul Ahad Para, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Salman Yousuf, Mohammad Ramazan Khan , Farooq Tawheedi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi and hundreds others are languishing in prison since long . It stated that in 2017, Indian authorities left no stone unturned to intimidate and supress people and employed all its arbitrary measures. Blaming authorities for their inhuman and uncivilised behaviour against women, report said that braid chopping was carried to create scare and thereby tormented the dignity of women folk and even showring bullets on nursing mothers thus depriving infants form their loving and caring mothers. Hailing people for their commitment and exhibition of bravery, Hurriyat said authorities through these cowardice measures left no stone unturned to cow down our spirits but people resisted and through their valour made all these sinister designs a failure. The outstanding poll boycott by people is itself a history and while defeating authorities created history, said Hurriyat in its report. Haling people for their commitment, Huriyat said that despite all repressive measures, their passion and sentiments conveyed that no power on earth can let their spirits down, thus defeated the ill designs of Indian authorities and Delhi groomed henchmen. The report said that overall horrendous situations in state and reports pouring in from nook and corner are ample proof that nothing has changed on ground and instead touching alarming level, thus leaving innocent people in quite distress.(KNO)
