Bhaderwah Congress gear up for Panchayat polls | KNO

BHADERWAH,JAN 02 (KNO) : In order to work out the strategy for forthcoming programmes, particularly to gear up for the Panchayat elections, an emergency meeting of block Congress Committee Bhaderwah was held at Dradu area under the chairmanship of its president Ashok Sharma .On the occasion Javed Azad former president Municipal Committee Bhaderwah and Senior Congress leader was chief guest who asked people to gear up for the upcoming panchayat elections and ‘ensure the Congress’ overwhelming victory’.He urged upon the people to elect honest and dedicated persons and focus on the development of Bhaderwah .Javed Azad also threw light on the various developmental works initiated by former Chief Minister and Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad for the over all development of roads , tourism , education sector and other works for Bhaderwah .He said the honest and sincere candidates would have to share the responsibility of strengthening the democratic institutions such as the panchyats by ‘involving themselves fully in these institutions with great wit and ensure development of the people’.He said the previous UPA government had launched several schemes for the benefit of poor villagers . He alleged that attempts were being made ‘at various levels to sabotage these schemes merely on political lines’.(KNO)
