Srinagar, Jan 3 (KNO) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appreciates the state Government’s resolve to take the initiative of dialogue through the institution of Centre’s Special Representative to its logical conclusion . Party welcomes the Governor’s offer for engagement as a sincere and concerted follow up “ made in his Address to joint session of legislators , yesterday. PDP Vice President Sartaj Madni said the process of dialogue is moving in right direction and there is a visible progress in gaining the required trust needed for such initiatives. People from all walks of life have established communication with the interlocutor and feel satisfied on the grievance redressal mechanism. is a clear indication that all stake holders will make peace a common cause and allow the initiative to culminate into real hope and promise. Madni said there is clear focus on sustained peace and development and sensitivities borne out of history and related to conflict are being taken care of. The policy decisions including Amnesty to stone-pelters , relief to sufferers including pelt victims , job policy for youth , Chief Ministewr’s unique exercise of outreach and ABOVE ALL THE regard for liberty and human rights helped to bring a discernible change in the attitudes of masses . A positive discourse on engagement has since begun. Madni said that Governor’s appeal to separatists is an honest assurance on the intentions of Mehbooba-led Government to collectively work for meaningful resolution of issues which meets the aspirations of stake holders. The offer needs to be taken as another big trust-building measure which should motivate everyone to participate in the process without harboring any doubts . Madni said , it is unfortunate that state has hugely suffered due to misplaced obsessions and present initiative underwent some hiccups . However , full backing of Union Government and Prime Minister’s public commitment on last year’s Independence Day did not allow misgivings to mar the process. He said Government’s resolve to turn see 2018 as an year for harbinger of an era of peace is a message emanating from empathy for the people of the region. He expressed confidence that once the dialogue process reaches each stakeholder , the scope of mutual trust and understanding will expand for good of the state and its people.(KNO)
