Div com reviews progress of dev works under CM’s commitment at Ganderbal | KNO

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 04 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed officers to play a proactive role in the execution of developmental works committed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during her outreach programme last month. The Divisional Commissioner was addressing a meeting, attended by District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, various heads of departments, chief engineers, sectoral and district officers here today to review the progress achieved during last one month. On the occasion, Div Com directed for constitution of separate interdepartmental Monitoring and Vigilance committees for monitoring and verifying of works so that accountability and transparency will be maintained. He reviewed all the 205 commitments/decisions taken by the Chief Minister during the Public Darbar held at conference hall Mini Secretariat Ganderbal on December 04, 2017. The Divisional Commissioner gave on the spot decisions in respect of each work and fixed timeline for completion of these works. He issued directions for maintaining documentation, besides pre and post photography of each work and videography during execution, dredging and other irrigation works. While reviewing the decisions, the Divisional Commissioner directed for augmentation of facilities at fruit Mandi Zazna, completion of 05 filtration plants in Kangan Tehsil, desilting of 37 irrigation schemes, improvement of LT/HT network and distribution system at Walivar, execution of land for Pandach-Behama road and creation of transformer bank. Regarding upgradation and renovation of playground at Kangan and Ganderbal Stadium, the Divisional Commissioner fixed a timeline of 25 days for completion. With regard to extraction of minor minerals from nallah Sindh, the Divisional Commissioner directed for organizing cooperative societies of local extractors with facilities of bank loans to facilitate employment to them. Earlier, the District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla, briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the achievements made in respect of Chief Minister's commitments . He informed that Rs.581.50 lakhs have been sanctioned from Chief Minister's Secretariat, out of which 305.50 lakhs have been released and many works have been taken up with timeline fixation for completion while as some of the works have been tendered and DPRs of some works submitted to the concerned authorities. Among others SSP Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, ADDC Ganderbal, N.A Baba, ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari were present at the meeting.(KNO)
