Dy CM inaugurates road from Hiranagar Degree College to Dayalachak | KNO

Convenes Public meet, takes stock of grievances of locals

KATHUA, JANUARY 4 (KNO) : Reaffirming government’s commitment towards improving road connectivity between rural and urban areas, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said it will give further fillip to social and economic growth in the state. The Deputy Chief Minister said this while addressing a gathering after inaugurating 3.5 Km road from Hiranagar Degree College to Dayalachak constructed at a cost of Rs 4 Crore. Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister convened a public meeting at Mela Morh and took stock of public issues. On the occasion, various deputations from Hiranagar, Billawar and Kathua Tehsils called on the Dy CM and apprised him of their problems and demands seeking an early redressal to the same. Dr Singh assured the people that all their genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same. Highlighting the achievements of present dispensation in Health, Education, PHE and PWD sectors, Dy CM apprised that Rs. 600 Crore have been spent on development works in Billawar constituency in the past 3 years and more projects are in pipeline to make Billawar a model constituency. He further added that the development of Billawar will be done in such a manner that the comprehensive development model will be emulated by others. “The Government is all set to hold Panchayat elections in the state to deepen the democratic values at the grassroots level,” Dy CM said and appealed to the general masses to actively participate in these elections to elect genuine and capable candidates who will ultimately strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions. Dr Nirmal Singh also emphasized on the fact that early redressal of people`s grievances and problems are priority of the present government which is committed for the equitable development of all the regions of the State. He announced that work on road connecting Chadwal to Mangloor through Moori will begin soon under CRF with an estimated cost of Rs. 18 Crore. Among others MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria; Executive Engineer PWD, SDPO Border and other District Officers were present on the occasion.(KNO)
