Jammu Kashmir Bank is in news these days for wrong reasons only. Scores of complaints are pouring from length and breadth of Kashmir about the Bank employees misbehaving with customers. A couple of days ago locals from Khag area of Budgam district had accused Branch Manager of corruption while last month customers had alleged that Branch Manager of Jammu Kashmir Bank at Pulwama main town has been mistreating customers at will. On Saturday, a delegation from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district alleged that employees at Advance Section have been treating customers as cattle and are behaving like wild animals. “We don’t know why the Advance Section employees at Ganderbal Branch are mistreating customers. Talking rudely with customers irrespective of their age and gender is a routine matter for these employees,” they said. They allege that Branch Head is shielding these employees who have not been transferred from the said Branch from past decade.”We had approached Head Office with a complaint but unfortunately they take the side of their bank employees and never take the complaint seriously,” the delegation told news agency CNS. Pertinently, in May last year, Jammu Kashmir Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmed had issued directions that any situation involving unprofessional and unethical behavior “warrants to be reported. “No matter how seemingly small, it must be reported and will be dealt with sternly”, the chairman in a statement had claimed. Meanwhile, a group of traders alleged that few employees at Amirakadal Branch of JK Bank in Srinagar display inappropriate behavior and always shout at customers. “Whenever any customer approaches them for ATM or other inquiry, they make faces and deal rudely with customers,” the traders said and appealed JK Bank authorities to look into the matter.
