Sopore Blast : Scores attend slain cop’s funeral in Bhaderwah ; Wreaths laid | KNO

BHADERWAH,JAN 07 (KNO) : Hundreds of people participated in the funeral prayers of slain police ASI Irshad Ahmed Sheikh at his native home town Bhaderwah here today .The air filled with cries as the casket of the dead man was lifted for its final journey. He was buried at his ancestral graveyard with locals joining to offer funeral prayers. Irshad Ahmed Sheikh was among the four Jammu and Kashmir Police cops killed in a powerful mine blast at Sopore Saturday morning.Assistant Sub Inspector Irshad Ahmed Sheikh , is survived by 72 years old mother, wife, two sons Nadeem Irshad, 19, Sahil Irshad, 10, two daughters Fiza Irshad, 16, and Toiba Bano about 13 years old .A wreath laying ceremony was also held at Chinote area grave yard of Bhaderwah where guard of honour was also given to martyr. Police, Army, and CRPF, local people , besides huge number of public laid floral wreath on the martyr and paid homage to the martyr with wet eyes. .SSP Doda Mohd Shabir said ASI Irshad Ahmed , was an outstanding officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police . “We today paid respect to him and we have all the sympathies with the family,” he added.It is worthwhile to mention here that grief and gloom are palpable in the air at Bhaderwah locality and the family members of the martyr were inconsolable. Several women from Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas reached the martyr’s house today and tried to console his wife , mother and other family members. The martyr’s neighbours described him as a “go-getter” who always had a smile on his face.(KNO)
