Srinagar, Jan 7 (KNO) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today reaffirmed its pledge to advance vision of Party Patron Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed to take the state out of political instability and related woes. A huge number of workers who had gathered at his anniversary in Darashikoh park extended unconditional support to Party President Mehbooba Mufti for carrying the Patrons mission to successful culmination.

Mehbooba addressed the serene assembly of the party cadre and established an emotional chord with the cadre, recalling mentor’s landmark achievements and persistent struggle for peace and amity in the region. Close after thousands of workers collectively and individually offered Fateh and reverence to departed leader on his second anniversary, Mehbooba Mufti emerged from the pavillion to offer gratitude to the workers for their love and devotion .

She said Jammu and Kashmir is again passing through a critical phase as relations between India and Pakistan have unfortunately receded back to confrontation after a brief phase of bonhomie and cooperation during Vajpayee and Musharaf governments. She said Mufti’s vision of peace through dialogue and reconciliation was the main source of that discourse . Mehbooba revived exciting slogans “ grenade se na goli se baat bane gi boli se “ and bare sageer mein aman ki khatir hind pak dosti zaroori hai. “ which the workers responded to reaffirm the importance of such agenda for wriggling out of critical days. PDP president said people of jammu and kashmir have been the worst sufferers of Indo- pak hostility. Deaths on both sides of the border and killings inside state rob “us” of peace and “only grave yards are piling devouring sons of the soil. Mehbooba said dialogue was the only way out and made an appeal to governments of India and Pakistan to resume talks and resolve mutual issues amicably. “Dialogue alone will end mayhem and destruction and will bring peace” she asserted. She said Jammu and Kashmir in this process will facilitate than impede.

Mehbooba appreciated the resilience of PDP workers and said PDP is passing through testing times, particularly after it forged alliance with BJP for government formation. “ we will be vindicated as people will soon reap the dividends of our decision” she said adding “ we are bearing the brunt with a purpose. PDP ‘s senior functionaries, Ministers, Legislators and office bearers were present on the occasion. Same fucntion was also held at Deshera gournd Jammu to commemorate the party patrons death aniversay in which thousands of party workers including senior functionaries , Minister’s , Legislators district Presidents, Zone Presidents and youth from Jammu province participated and resolved to carry forward the agenda and vision of late leader.(KNO)
