BHADERWAH,JAN 08 (KNO) : Even after 70 years of independence, several villages of Draina and Ghurakha Panchayat in Bhalla Tehsil of Bhaderwah sub district still await road connectivity. The villagers of Draina and Gurakha which also included villages Morha Nopaan , Shaban , Masran , Chelan and Chorahai of Bhalla , Bhaderwah are crying foul over the change of alignment of link road .They allege that some engineers of Roads and Building has changed the previous alignment of Draina Ghurakha link road to benefit some selected people whereas huge population being ignored without any reason and claimed as per the old alignment, the road runs through their villages .The villagers alleged that despite their several requests to the concerned authorities, no effort has been made to provide connectivity to their villages .Abdul Rashid of village Shaban Morha alleged that earth work on 3 kms road was completed but some influential people was not allowing work on next stretch and was along with some R&B officials want change in the alignment of road project which they will not allow at any cost . He demanded that road should be completed at the earliest without making any change in the alignment. Another resident Roshan Lal said R&B is throwing all rule and norms to winds ignoring the huge population and to benefit some people illegally is using JCB machines in midnight for earth work to change alignment and completely ignored the areas included Morha Nopaan , Masran , Chelan , Chorahai and Shaban where from according to survey road was to construct and are huge population area . Manzoor Ahmed another villager said according to survey after the 3 KM link road should be constructed via the house of Gulam Qadir Lone and Gulam Mustfa Butt of ward 07 but concerned JE along with others are working with his will .He claimed that if road is not constructed as per survey and keeping in view the interest of huge population of Ghurakha Panchayat then it will be no use for ward 2, 3 and 7 of Panchayat and we will remain without road connectivity for ever and it will be misuse of state exchequer , he said .Residents alleged that many times they approached concerned administration and R&B department but all in vain . Locals lamented that they are getting step motherly treatment from the district administration and public representatives as since last two decades road connectivity to these villages is still dream to come true for more time to come. They appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in the matter for early road connectivity all villages without changing previous alignment and survey to these villages so that they too can reap the benefits of using road facility like other people of adjoining areas of the Bhalla and Bhaderwah .(KNO)
