Div com reviews progress of Bandipora dev works | KNO

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 08 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the status of ongoing developmental works in district Bandipora. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain was also present on the occasion. Threadbare discussions were held regarding Rs 134.84 crore Flood Protection Works on Madumati-Boniyar canal for the commissioning of Hydro Electric Project, Narbard works, PDD works, Geo Bags at Hajin and Sumbal areas, Floriculture projects and other works in the meeting. The meeting was informed that 79 directions announced by the Chief Minister in her public outreach programme in Bandipora District, were implemented out of total 81 and rest are under implementation. While addressing the officers, Divisional Commissioner stressed on ensuring judicious use of funds and added that quality of works shouldn’t be compromised with. He further directed them to re-double their efforts to complete the development works within the stipulated time frame. He directed DC Bandipora to work in close coordination with other departments for the hassle-free completion of under construction projects in the district besides constituting a team which will randomly inspect all developmental works in the district and submit the report to Divisional Commissioner office on monthly basis. Khan directed the officers for reaching out to the people of far-flung areas of district Bandipora so that they do not face any difficulty during winter months. Besides, he called for fixing of accountability at every level of the administration. Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officers were present at the meeting. (KNO)
