Ganderbal sports festival concludes | KNO

Srinagar, January 09 (KNO) : Closing ceremony of Ganderbal Sports Festival which was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police under civic action programme, was held in Ganderbal. The sports festival was inaugurated by DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat on 30th of October 2017 at Sainik School Manasbal. The closing ceremony was witnessed by the DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat who was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others SSP Ganderbal Shri Fayaz Ahmad Lone, other Police officers and respectable persons of District Ganderbal were present on the occassion. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat said that these spots festivals are organized to explore the talent of youth of the state. Jammu and Kashmir Police is trying to boost the morale of talented youths and to channelize the talent to the international level, he said. Two matches of Tug of War and Kabbadi were played on the closing ceremony. Tug of War was played between Navodian Tigers and Degree College Ganderbal while the Kabbadi match was played between Kabbadi Academy Ganderbal and Navodian Tigers. Games including volleyball, Football, Badminton, Martial Arts and Cricket were also played during the sports festival. Deputy Inspector General of Police Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat distributed the trophies as well as cash rewards and certificates among the participants.(KNO)
