JAMMU & KASHMIR Anantnag, Kulgam areas shut to mourn militant, civilian killings | KNO REPRESENTATION PHOTO Published 328 weeks ago on January 10, 2018 By KashmirNewsObserver South Kashmir areas under Anantnag and Kulgam districts are observing shutdown Wednesday to mourn the killings of a civilian and a militant at the hands of government forces on Tuesday. A Hizb militant Farheen Ahmad Wani was killed during a gunfight with forces in Kokernag area of Anantnag district. Soon after his killing, protesters hit the streets in his native area of Khudwani in Kulgam district resulting in clashes. The clashes resulted in injuries to may including Khalid Ahmad Dar, a final year student who later on succumbed to his injuries. Local sources said that all shops and business establishments are closed in the areas coming under Anantnag and Kulgam districts to mourn the killings of Farheen and Khalid.
